Dolly Parton‘s estate has dropped its lawsuit against her nephew and former head of security, Bryan Seaver, following weeks of legal disputes and allegations of threats and intimidation. The development comes after She’s Alive, LLC, the company established to oversee the country music icon’s business interests following her death on August 25, filed a notice of voluntary dismissal in a Tennessee court on November 5.According to a report by People, the dismissal was filed without prejudice, meaning the estate retains the option of bringing the case again. The latest development follows a prolonged legal dispute between the company, operated by Parton’s longtime manager Danny Nozell, and Seaver, who worked as his aunt’s head of security for more than 20 years before being dismissed in September.

The legal dispute began after She’s Alive accused Seaver of making threats against the organisation and people associated with Parton’s business interests. The company alleged that he made intimidating remarks invoking his military background and that his conduct had contributed to multiple employees resigning. He was also accused of threatening to damage Parton’s brand partnerships through a podcast.Seaver, however, denied threatening anyone. He maintained that private messages exchanged with Nozell, in which he admitted to using profane language, had been taken out of context in the court documents. He described their exchanges as ultimately friendly and disputed the allegations made against him.In an October 13 court filing, Seaver said that he cared deeply about his aunt, her music and her family and did not want the dispute to damage her legacy. He also argued that the temporary restraining order obtained by She’s Alive was affecting his personal life and his position as a beneficiary of Parton’s trust.
