In 1998, Canadian icon Céline Dion and her late husband, René Angélil, built their stunning waterfront home in Florida, which is known as one of her most iconic properties in the area. According to recent reports, the waterfront luxury mansion that was originally custom-built for the singer has now been sold off in an off-market deal in Jupiter, Florida.
About Céline Dion’s waterfront Florida estate
In 1998, the waterfront home was designed and built specifically for Céline and René. It was tailored to their taste with luxury custom features and deep-water access, according to reports shared online by The Real Deal. The 14,750-square-foot residence is spread across eight bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, and three and a half baths.Located at 370 Eagle Drive in Admirals Cove, the property initially had a primary suite, which also had a stone fireplace and private terrace, a wine cellar, and a dedicated home theatre outfitted with red velvet seating, coffered ceilings, and a crystal chandelier. Other than that, the Florida mansion also has its own private dock with private ocean access, as well as a covered patio featuring an outdoor kitchen, a swimming pool, and a hot tub.
Luxury property changes hands
Only four years after moving in, Dion sold the residence off for USD 9 million. Around the same time, Dion was keeping busy with her career in the music industry and prepping for her ‘A New Day…’ Las Vegas Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which debuted in March 2003. The demands in her career changed drastically and prompted the couple to consolidate their real estate footprint and offload the Jupiter estate. The private buyer’s identity has remained largely shielded under asset management entities.Years later, in 2021, there was an interim trade on the property, and the mansion was acquired by an entity linked to Edward St. John, an American real estate developer and philanthropist who founded a successful and privately held commercial real estate firm in 1971. He acquired the property for USD 7.6 million.
Waterfront property sold for USD 12.5 million
According to reports shared online, the 14,750-square-foot Mediterranean-style estate was initially listed on the public market for USD 20 million earlier in May. While it initially went under contract near its asking price, the listing was eventually pulled, and the home ultimately closed off-market for USD 12.5 million, which means that he paid approximately USD 847 per square foot. Local real estate investor Myron Miller bought the property from St. John’s entity, making a 64% appreciation over the 2021 purchase price.DISCLAIMER: Figures presented in this article are derived from various public sources and are considered approximate unless explicitly noted.
