After the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, JLR has commenced the local assembly of the Defender 110 in India via the completely knocked down (CKD) route. This applies to the Defender 110’s base-spec X-Dynamic HSE trim, sold with 3-litre diesel (D350), 3-litre petrol (P400) and 2-litre petrol (P300) engine options.
The Defender, previously sold in India as a fully imported model, was JLR India’s best-selling model in FY2026. In fact, the Defender, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport together accounted for more than 80 percent of the company’s sales here during the last fiscal year.
